Pepsi and Pancakes
Yep, that's lunch today.
Pancakes because Maggie's still eating soft foods and Pepsi because I haven't had any caffeine yet today. Not the best combination. I love both equally but some things are better left seperate.
So we got a phone call about 1030 last night. Our best friend had been to the doc yesterday and I hadn't heard from her again so we were a bit worried - well, I was. I forgot to tell Matt about it. Turns out, her boyfriend was having an appendectomy. He hadn't been feeling well and ended up in urgent care most of the day and then on to the hospital for surgery last night. "Emergency" might be stretching it a bit, but "urgent" certainly wouldn't be. She and Matt just picked up his car and parked it in front of our house for a few days until they can get it back to their apartment.
Maggie and Abbie have been on each other's last nerve today - most of the day. That's not unusual. They're so close in age that they know how to push each other's buttons. Lunchtime was getting so contentious that Maggie is eating her [un-syruped] pancakes in her room with her apple juice and Sprite [another great combination].
And Matt's not going to be home at all today. Fantasy baseball draft is tonight *rolleyes*. They only do live drafts twice a year - once for football and once for baseball - but it always seems to fall at the most inopportune times. Today, for example. It's his early morning - gone by 730 - and we'll probably all be sound asleep by the time he gets home - and we're fairly 'late to bed' type people. Maggie is just well enough that she thinks she ought to get to do everything she normally does, but not well enough to actually do all of those things. They need baths tonight - something they much prefer to do with Dad.
But at the same time, I can run things the way I want today without worrying about Matt not knowing that I already said no to something or things of that nature. I can get the house cleaned up - actually would be pretty easy today - and get some schoolwork done and then curl up on the couch with a good movie or something as soon as the girls are all in bed, which will be pretty early tonight because we'll all be ready for it.
Okay - so I should be doing something more productive than blogging. Like the house cleaning or schoolwork I just mentioned...
