Monday night musings

I love Monday nights. Matt takes the girls with him to men's group and I get to hang out alone in my house and just chill. Maggie is home tonight because it has been less than a week since she had her tonsils and adenoids taken out and tubes put in both ears. She's doing better overall but is currently watching her new Backyardigans video and eating ice cream in her room so it's kind of like being home alone.

I'm not sure where I want this blog to go - overall, I mean. It's not our journey to being debt free like Joel's [www.JoelMaxwell.com], though we are on our way!! It won't be nearly as scripturally profound as Amy's [Joel's wife, www.gentlewhisper.com] or, well, besides Amanda, those are the only bloggers I know [at least as far as I know]. I like the quote on Amy's page - Life is random, so is my blog - or something to that effect. I think that's probably what this will be. And I'll be sure to let you [all two or three of you who may read this] know when we pay off our next debt [bed and van are done!].

I am sitting here looking around the living room. The floor is covered with toys and many of the things I love are packed up and in my sister's garage. Some of them I'll never miss, but many I do - I just need more room to put them in. Anyone know anyone looking for a three bedroom, one bath, great starter home with a big backyard on a fairly quiet street? We love the house - it's been perfect for us, but we outgrew it a baby and a half ago. Why is it that we can get all the laundry clean [which is definately a start] but I can never get it all put up at the same time?

I miss having quiet moments like this on a more regular basis. It was pretty easy to have quiet time when I only had an infant who slept well and Matt worked 40+ hours a week while taking 10 graduate credits and doing a 20 hour internship. Don't get me wrong - I love having him home more, but I miss the quiet, alone time too.

But all quiet moments must come to an end and I should go grade papers or something so that I can have some quiet moments tomorrow during naptime. Maggie probably won't go to school, but hopefully I can get her to lay down when the little girls do. And this is probably long enough for my second blog! ;-)

I love Amy's quote also! My blog is also pretty random. I'm glad your getting some quiet time. Sometimes the sound of nothing can be the best sound in the world!

    Enjoy your evening alone!
